职业服务

Welcome to the CWC 职业服务 office. We are here to assist students, the CWC campus, and employers. Our mission is to provide high-quality student services while providing support and guidance for student career development, which can include student employment, 实习, job shadowing and mentorship/informational interviewing. Our office can assist students through career assessments (Career Coach) as well as assist students with resumes, 求职信, and interviewing techniques. The SkillsMatch website can also assist those who have been in the workforce by identifying their current/learned skillsets and matching those skills to job openings in the state. It can even help you find programs for skills you would like to learn. We recommend that you start your career planning sooner rather than later as the job market is constantly changing. The CWC 职业服务 Team is here for you!

Student Opportunities

Documentable experience is valuable for anyone entering the workforce. The CWC 职业服务 Team can assist you with finding employment and/or experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom that will help enhance your certificate or degree.

Student Employment – Help build your resume by working for CWC as a student worker. Work-Study* positions are also available.

*Must be eligible…Work-Study positions are federally funded; see your Student Aid Report from your FAFSA, the FAFSA website for eligibility, or visit with the CWC Financial Aid office.

职业服务 can also assist student job seekers looking for jobs in local communities. A Job Board is posted in the Main Hall near the classrooms.

Experiential Learning – Learn through experience! Enhance your education by gaining valuable experience and participate in a variety of paid and unpaid opportunities outside of the classroom. Options include:

  • Mentoring/Informational Interviewing – Short term visit(s) with people working in your desired profession. Learn from professionals about your desired career choice or occupation.
  • 工作见习 – Short term/temporary opportunity to be placed in a work environment for a few hours a day, up to a few weeks. Experience what it would be like to work for an employer in a selected field without a long-term commitment.
  • 实习 – Gain valuable experience working part-time in your field of interest. 实习 can be paid or unpaid, depending on the employer. CWC may be able to help fund (pay students) in 实习 that are unpaid (subject to available funding). Typical semester 实习 would have students working 12.5 hours for a 12-week period of time or 18.75 hours for 8-weeks. Students participating in a semester-based internship paid by CWC will be limited to one semester internship experience. Students may continue their 实习 as unpaid or visit with the employers about the possibility of being a paid intern (please note: not all employers may be in a position to pay “interns”). Requests for an additional/extended CWC sponsored (paid) semester internship may be granted on a case-by-case basis and are subject to available funding. Please contact Taylar Stagner (tstagner@0577-it.net) to discuss the possibility of additional/extended paid internship.
